Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant Cardiothoracic ICU

Overview

Palm Health Resources is hiring an experienced Cardiothoracic Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Downtown Atlanta, GA.

Shift & Schedule

Full time night shift role only: 3 12-hour shifts per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide care outside the operating room, under surgeon direction, including pre- and postoperative care of surgical patients.
• Perform clinical tasks on the patient unit such as removal of chest tubes, sutures, and temporary pacing wires as directed by surgeons or chief resident.
• Practice at the highest level of the license and maintain a high level of autonomy with critical care patients.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• License eligible or currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia, or certified as a Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or equivalent, or as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA.
• Minimum one year of direct experience in high acuity clinical specialties (cardiothoracic or cardiac preferred).
• BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required; ACLS may be required in some areas.
• Cardiothoracic or cardiac inpatient experience, 2+ years preferred; Nurse Practitioner candidates must be Acute Care Certified (ACNP or AGACNP).
