Salary: $130,000–$160,000 annually (DOE)
About the Opportunity
A reputable and growing outpatient Neurology Clinic in Monmouth County, NJ is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP with a strong neurology background who is looking for a stable weekday schedule, a collaborative environment, and meaningful patient interaction.
Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the Neurology team to provide comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. This role involves clinical assessments, ongoing management, patient education, and coordination with physicians and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive neurological assessments, including patient history, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation.
- Diagnose and manage chronic and acute neurological conditions (e.g., migraines, epilepsy, neuropathy, movement disorders, dementia, stroke follow-up, etc.).
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, EMGs, etc.).
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Prescribe medications and manage medication adjustments in accordance with NJ regulations.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, care plans, and long-term management.
- Coordinate care across neurologists, primary care providers, specialists, and support staff.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New Jersey.
- National Board Certification (ANCC or AANP).
- At least 2 years of Neurology NP experience in an outpatient or hospital-based setting.
- Strong clinical judgment and working knowledge of common neurological conditions.
- Excellent communication and patient engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
- Able to work either 5x8s or 4x10s based on practice needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior outpatient neurology experience.
- Interest in long-term patient relationships and continuity of care.
