Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Urgent Care

Location: Community Care Wilkes-Barre shift: days (United States of America). Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Worker type: Regular. Exemption status: Yes.

Job Summary: CommunityCare Express is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for ExpressCare Mt Pleasant, Scranton and ExpressCare Kistler, Wilkes-Barre urgent care clinics.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients of all ages, diagnosing and treating common medical problems such as sore throats, earaches, sinus infections, flu, urinary tract infections, and more.
• Perform routine health exams, immunizations, screenings and wellness services.
• Provide additional services such as X‑ray, EKG, IV hydration and phlebotomy as required.
• Work rotations of weekends and some holidays (7 of 14 days).
• Take responsibility and ownership of the site.

Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced Practitioner (required) with at least six months of professional experience in primary care, emergency medicine, urgent care or critical care.
• Ability to perform urgent‑care procedures including suturing and splinting.
• Strong interpersonal skills, self‑motivation, excellent prioritization and multitasking abilities.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• Certified Physician Assistant (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).

Education: Bachelor’s Degree-Physician Assistant (required), Master’s Degree-Physician Assistant (preferred).
