Overview
Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking highly skilled full-time Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, or Certified Nurse Midwives with strong communication and clinical skills and a focus on excellent customer service to serve our diverse patient population within our Koreatown Health Center (plus additional sites within LA County as needed).
The full-time Clinician will join the Patient Services team and provide quality patient care, including examinations, diagnosis, treatment, education, counseling, and serving as a medical resource for other licensed and non-licensed staff. This role includes physical exams for all genders with emphasis on the reproductive system, breast examination, pelvic examination, male genital exam, cancer screening tests, diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections, Mid-Life Services counseling, and other specialized procedures as indicated by medical policy.

Responsibilities
- Provide examinations, diagnosis, treatment, education, counseling, and medical resource support for staff and patients.
- Perform physical exams and specialized procedures as indicated by medical policy.
- Perform, interpret, and document diagnostic studies as indicated by the organization’s medical standards and guidelines.
- Maintain clinical productivity standards (e.g., minimum visits per hour and workflow targets).
- Label, dispense, and prescribe FDA-approved birth control methods, including emergency contraception; place and remove long-acting reversible contraception (IUDs and implants).
- Perform venipuncture, injections, IV insertions, and related procedures.
- Train or precept licensed health care professionals as needed; act as a medical resource for non-licensed staff.
- Travel within Los Angeles County as needed and maintain reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Valid and current California license as CNM, NP, or PA required.
- Current furnishing license required (for NP).
- Current BLS & ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
- Master’s/Graduate degree required; National Board Certification required.
- Medi-Cal Provider application completed; NPI number required.
- DEA license preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and at least 2 Saturdays per month; additional Saturdays may be required.
- On-call duties required (minimum 1 weeklong shift per calendar year).
- Excellent customer service, ability to work independently and as a team, and effective communication with patients, staff, and volunteers.
- Strong judgment, initiative, critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to interpret written instructions.
- Ability to relate to diverse communities; proficient in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
- Ability and willingness to travel within Los Angeles County; reliable transportation; valid CA driver license and insurance if using a personal vehicle.
About this position
- Abortion services are provided across health centers and supported by non-clinical roles; supporting these services is a fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.
- Comply with agency medical protocols and perform family planning services, with training on medication abortion (MAB) and procedural abortion (PAB) where applicable.
- Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies as allowed by PPLA medical standards and guidelines.
- Perform post-abortion assessments and follow-up as needed.
- Interpret colposcopy results and follow-up plans; maintain productivity standards and logs.
- Maintain professional standards and collaborate with leadership as needed.
