Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Hospital Medicine (72 bi-weekly hours)

Position: Advanced Practice Provider – Pediatric Hospital Medicine (Inpatient, 24/7 rotating)

Location: Liberty Campus

Employment: Full‑time, 36 weekly hours, 0.9 FTE, Regular employee status.

Schedule: 8‑ or 10‑hour shifts, possible 12‑hour shifts in the future. Rotating shifts, holidays, weekends. No on‑call.

Pay: $112,590.40–$146,369.60 base, plus potential shift, on‑call, or weekend differentials and benefits. Annual pay may vary by FTE.

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examinations for patients, assess and diagnose illnesses.
• Formulate, document, and monitor treatment plans; order and monitor therapeutic interventions including diets, labs, radiology, and diagnostics.
• Provide clinical consultation and order interdisciplinary consults.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with Federal and State law, university policy, and CCHMC policy.
• Maintain competency in subspecialty practice, skills, and procedures per Joint Commission standards for FPPE & OPPE.
• Develop measurable outcomes, prioritize and modify individualized plans, involve patient/family/caregiver as appropriate.
• Incorporate new evidence and strategies to improve outcomes; update documentation accordingly.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, research, and professional development; serve as preceptor, mentor, or role model.
• Provide leadership on committees or in professional organizations; advocate for pediatric patients and families.
• Manage care: promote self‑management, family‑centered care, and health education; coordinate with the healthcare team.
• Delegate monitoring, assessment, and interventions appropriately.
• Make referrals, and discuss recommendations with patient/family/caregiver.
• Order or perform appropriate treatments, therapies, and procedures.
• Use systematic evaluation of assessment data and outcomes to revise diagnosis, plan, and interventions.
• Assess accuracy of diagnosis and effectiveness of interventions; use results to recommend system or policy changes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field (Doctorate of Nursing Practice preferred).
• Clinical license and certification in accordance with CCHMC requirements.
• Multi‑state licensure may be required based on specialty.
• Experience as an APP in a subspecialty (preferred).
• Licensure/certification per CCHMC Delineation of Privileges.
