Job Focus

The Department of Emergency Medicine seeks additional Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for our Minnesota practice. Candidates will serve primarily in Mankato, MN, with potential future coverage at other sites such as Austin, Albert Lea, Cannon Falls, Red Wing, Lake City, Fairmont, Waseca, and St. James.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic tests, prescribing pharmacological agents, and patient education.
  • Perform procedures including laceration repair, incision & drainage, lumbar puncture, intubation, non‑invasive airway management, fracture reductions, procedural sedation, and critical care management.
  • Serve as independent provider, collaborating with physicians and other health professionals.
  • Participate in the 12‑month Bootcamp Experience Staff Training (BEST) program for didactic, simulation, and AI‑driven learning.
  • Cover 8‑13 hour shifts, 455 clinical hours per quarter, with approximately one weekend per month scheduled (days/night or power shift).

Qualifications

  • Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner:
    • Masters‑prepared graduate of an accredited nursing school and NP program.
    • Current Minnesota RN and APRN license.
    • Certification as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Acute Care NP (ACNP), or Emergency NP (ENP).
  • Physician Assistant:
    • Graduate of an accredited PA program.
    • Current PA certification by NCCPA and registration with the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
    • DEA registration; BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS required (can be obtained after start).
  • External and internal candidates must provide 2‑3 letters of recommendation with their application.

Compensation

Annual salary range: $130,977.60 – $182,686.40.

Schedule
