Your Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, order necessary diagnostic tests, and build individualized care plans
• Diagnose and administer treatments for acute, acute episodes, or chronic illnesses independently or in collaboration with physicians depending on your credentials
• Instruct patients and their families about prevention, wellness, and effective disease management
• Prescribe medications and therapies as authorized by your scope of practice

Educational Background

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Certifications Required

• Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in North Carolina
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to secure them within 90 days)
