Nurse Practitioner - Float Primary Care - $112K-157K per year

Overview

UW Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner Float Primary Care (Hybrid) to provide high‑quality, cost‑effective care to patients in Madison, Wisconsin.

Work schedule is 100% FTE, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with no holidays or call. Hours may vary based on departmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a virtual care team expanding access to primary care through telehealth visits.
• Care for the acute and chronic needs of patients from newborn to elderly.
• Perform physical examinations and manage health‑maintenance needs of a family‑medicine population.
• Perform routine clinical procedures independently, including wart removal, PAP smears, and skin‑lesion removals.
• Provide in‑person and virtual care to patients, ensuring high‑quality and cost‑effective services.

Qualifications

• Education: For Nurse Practitioner – Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from an accredited nursing program. For Physician Assistant – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited PA program.
• Work experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience.
• Licenses and certifications:

• State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure.
• For Nurse Practitioner: active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice and active board certification as an NP in a clinical practice area (e.g., Family).
• For Physician Assistant: active PA license with prescriptive authority in state(s) of practice and active PA board certification.
• All candidates must have an active DEA license or be able to obtain one prior to or upon hire.
