Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred
- National Certification as a nurse practitioner by a nationally accredited organization
- Current certificate of authority and prescription authority (or eligibility) by the Ohio Board of Nursing
- ACLS or PALS may be required based on practice setting
- Current Health Care Provider BLS training is required
- Licensed as an RN in State of Ohio
- Must obtain credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges
- Individuals hired without an MSN or DNP and without a certificate to prescribe must pursue and obtain a MSN or DNP degree/certificate promptly

Responsibilities
- Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions, including the delivery of acute care services
- Practices with a variety of specialty‑based populations including neonatal, pediatric, and adult
- Works in any setting requiring complex monitoring and therapies, high‑intensity nursing intervention, or continuous nursing vigilance within the range of high‑acuity care
- Participates in quality monitoring by reviewing records and treatment plans for patient outcomes on a bi‑annual basis to assure quality care and meet ORC requirements
- Undergoes Focused Professional Performance Evaluation (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation (OPPE) as part of Joint Commission requirements for Advanced Practice Providers
- Emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems
- Assists with and facilitates discharge planning and provides consultations as directed in accordance with hospital bylaws
Technical Expertise
- Excellent critical thinking, self‑motivation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database use, and other computer software for data analysis and presentations
Education and Experience
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred
- Licensed as an RN in Ohio and nationally certified as a nurse practitioner
- Current certificate of authority and prescription authority (or eligibility) by Ohio Board of Nursing; ACLS or PALS may be required based on setting
- Obtained medical staff credentialing and appropriate privileges
- Current BLS training required
