Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery Opportunity - Covington, LA

Ochsner Clinic Foundation is seeking a Nurse Practitioner First Assist or Physician Assistant with specialized experience in cardiovascular surgery. This is a permanent position supporting a new Cardiovascular Surgeon at Ochsner Health Center - Covington. The role involves scheduled clinical hours plus call coverage (2nd Call/Backup) in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first assist support for cardiovascular surgical procedures

Perform endovenous harvesting procedures

Perform radial artery endovenous harvesting

Participate in scheduled clinical hours and 2nd call/backup coverage

Round on assigned patients

Respond to calls within 30 minutes when on backup call

Candidate Requirements

Board Certification: Certified (required)

Active license in Louisiana

BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification required

Hospital privileges required

Fellowship experience in Cardiovascular Surgery preferred

Specific experience with endovenous harvesting and radial artery endovenous harvesting required

Estimated credentialing time: 120 days
