Position Overview:

n

Sutter Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is seeking an experienced Cardiac Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) to join our inpatient cardiac services team at our advanced tertiary cardiac center.

n

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is a 450-bed facility located in downtown Oakland, serving as the tertiary cardiac referral center for the Greater East Bay. We provide a comprehensive, cutting-edge cardiac program that includes:

n

• General cardiology

n

• Advanced cardiac imaging (cardiac CT and MRI)

n

• Coronary interventions, including treatment of chronic total occlusions

n

• Structural heart disease management: percutaneous valve procedures, ASD/PFO closure, left atrial appendage closure

n

• Comprehensive electrophysiology: CIED implantation/extraction, advanced ablation

n

• Advanced heart failure management, including mechanical circulatory support

n

• Cardiac surgery

n

Our cardiac program is supported by approximately 20 cardiologists and 3 cardiothoracic surgeons.

n

RESPONSIBILITIES:

n

The Cardiac APC will:

n

Work collaboratively under the supervision of on-site cardiologists

n

Follow a 7 days on/7 days off

n

Provide comprehensive inpatient cardiac care, including:

n

Pre-procedure evaluations

n

Post-procedure evaluations

n

Managing cardiac discharges and coordinating with the hospitalist team

n

Follow-up inpatient assessments

n

Evaluating new inpatient or Emergency Department consults

n

Triage of urgent and emergent cardiac patients

n

Participation in the post-cardiac-discharge Transition of Care Clinic

n

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

    n
  • 5 years of recent relevant experience.
  • n

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    n
  • n

    Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to advanced nursing theories, concepts and practices; medical terminology; anatomy; and physiology.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, best practices regarding patient care and privacy, and changes in local/state/federal regulations.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

  • n

    Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.

Pay Range is $163,704.32 to $237,352.96 / annual salary

n

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
