Nurse Practitioner - Behavioral Health

TeamHealth is hiring a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) for an acute inpatient setting in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Role Overview

Full-time, Monday‑Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Provide psychiatric patient care to adults and adolescents in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and mental status examinations.
• Diagnose and treat psychiatric, behavioral, and neurocognitive disorders.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications.
• Evaluate behavioral and safety concerns.
• Provide interventions and behavioral management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams across care settings.
• Maintain an average caseload of 14–16 patients per day.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Tennessee license as a PMHNP.
• Active DEA registration or willingness to obtain.
• Minimum of 1‑year experience as a PMHNP clinician in an inpatient setting.
