Public Health NurseUnder limited supervision, performs professional specialized nursing care of considerable difficulty in public health programs in the field and office. This position has department specific responsibility.Examples of Work (Illustrative Only):Coordinates and maintains advanced nursing servicesCoordinates the administration of prescribed treatmentCoordinates programs for the prevention and control of communicable diseasesAssesses community health conditions and needsDevelops and implements client care plansRefers clients to community resources for care, information and specialty treatmentsResponds to emergency situations and provides referral sources and informationWorks cooperatively with other emergency personnel to assist the clientMaintains case recordsProduces reports regarding client conditions, progress, referrals made and Public Health issuesMay conduct educational programs for community outreach regarding health prevention and good health practicesMay supervise health aide staffRegular and reliable attendance is requiredPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications & Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Nursing; AND nurse practitioner training and one - two (1 - 2) years of experience in public health nursing; must possess a current State of Arizona license as a nurse practitioner and a valid driver's license; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
