Nurse PractitionerSkywood Recovery Center is a residential treatment facility offering integrated treatment for addiction and mental health conditions. Skywood Recovery provides individual and group therapy, experiential therapy, equine and art therapy, and yoga. Located in Augusta, MI, the campus offers a restorative environment with opportunity to enjoy the outdoors.The Nurse Practitioner provides services to patients and consults with program staff regarding treatment. Essential duties include performing routine and psychiatric evaluations and psychopharmacologic treatment of patients at admission and ongoing, completing documentation of all evaluations and treatment visits on the day of the session and according to documentation requirements. Practices according to industry standards for psychopharmacologic treatment. Communicates with attending physicians, psychiatrists, etc. regarding status and treatment of the patient. Participates in weekly staff and clinical meetings. After hour on-call schedule as needed.Qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Considerable knowledge of contemporary treatment approaches to integrated care. Ability to demonstrate understanding of a variety of models and theories of addiction, MI, and related issues. Knowledge of philosophies, practices, policies and outcomes of models of treatment, recovery, relapse prevention, and continuing care for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into practice setting. Be in good standing with licensing board. Current malpractice insurance required.
Education and experience include being a licensed NP with specialty in addiction medicine and/or psychiatry. Expertise treating patients with mental illness and chemical dependency.
