Position Overview

The Nurse Manager manages the day-to-day clinical operations at our Freedom Hill Community Health Center location in Tarboro, NC. This position coordinates day-to-day clinical operations, provides patients and staff with an efficient and safe environment of care, and serves as a focal point of contact for pharmacists, home health care agencies, referral sources, and contract laboratory. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Services.

Essential Tasks

  • Supervise nursing staff, ensuring competency and evaluating performance, and providing corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinate workflow between nursing staff and providers, develop and publish a monthly work schedule, and manage clinical activities with front office staff.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and visitors according to OSHA standards.
  • Order and maintain an accurate inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Consider cost saving alternatives and utilize outside resources wisely when available.
  • Maintain the integrity of medical equipment; purchase, repair, calibrate, and maintain controls.
  • Serve as a liaison with community agencies for coordinating services for patients.
  • Serve as a point of contact for students completing clinical rotations in the clinic.
  • Provide in-service training to nursing staff; topics will be chosen based on staff, clinic, and current health care trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience And Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Three years in a healthcare environment with supervisory/management background.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of North Carolina.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration/management, or healthcare administration.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of windows-based environment and EHR/EMR experience.
  • Basic knowledge of physician office documentation standards.
  • Active North Carolina Driver License – Must have transportation available during the workday for frequent local travel within and out of the community.

Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am - 5pm, 8 hour shift, day shift. Wednesday 11am - 8pm, day/evening shift. 8 hour shift.

Physical Requirements

  • Constant standing and walking, occasional bending, stooping, lifting, reaching forward and overhead.
  • May occasionally be required to lift patients, office equipment and paper, usually not exceeding fifty pounds of direct lift.
  • Frequent computer work required.

Base Pay Overview

The starting pay for this position is $85,280.00. Actual salary will vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
