The Nurse Manager for Patient Care in the PACU is responsible for overseeing nursing practice, patient care delivery, and regulatory compliance within the unit. This role is ideal for experienced nursing leaders who are committed to high-quality, patient-centered care.

What You'll Do

• Manage and have 24/7 responsibility for the team members, operations, and patient care activities of a patient care unit.
• Assist nursing leadership in setting strategic direction for key programs in alignment with organization mission, vision and values.
• Communicate, build consensus, and guide the team toward achieving department objectives.
• Promote and maintain high-quality patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Create a professional work environment that fosters team member respect, engagement, accountability, and optimal patient outcomes.
• Promote appreciative inquiry and evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate practice.
• Acquire and manage staffing for the patient care unit, collaborating with HR for requirements.
• Provide direction and guidance to patient care unit team members and supervisors.
• Facilitate performance reviews, promotions, pay, and corrective actions.
• Serve as a role model for standards of professional practice (clinical, educational, and leadership).

Requirements

• Education:
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing required, Master's preferred.
• Experience:
  • 6-8 years of nursing experience required.
  • 2-5 years of leadership/management experience required.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required.
  • Specialized certifications as needed.
