Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a state-of-the-art 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus, with its new patient tower, is also home to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, the Johns Hopkins National Proton Therapy Center, Grand Oaks -- an assisted living residence -- a medical building with physician offices and an ambulatory surgery and imaging center.
Our Emergency Department consists of 22 beds, 6 fast track beds and 6 hallway beds
What You Will Do:
We have a great opportunity for an innovative leader to join our Emergency team today! As the Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating nursing care in the Emergency Department. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and the processes that lead to continuous performance improvement. His/Her role includes clinical practice, staff mentoring and development, management and leadership, consultation, and support. The manager collaborates with members of administration, physicians, and other members of the multi-disciplinary staff to ensure that lines of communication are open and processes for quality patient care and problem resolution are in place.
Who Should Apply:
- Master of Nursing (MSN) (Required). Applicants with a Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a Master’s of Nursing (MSN) program. One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
- Minimum of seven years’ of experience in clinical nursing (Required); nursing experience in Interventional Radiology strongly preferred; registered nursing or nursing leadership experience preferred.
- Previous clinical management experience strongly preferred.
- Experience navigating rapidly changing situations, from evolving patient needs to technological advancements, by remaining flexible, continuously learning, embracing new challenges, and quickly recovering from setbacks.
- Current District of Columbia RN license required.
- Current CPR certification required.
