Responsibilities
The Nurse Manager oversees clinical services, manages staff, and is responsible for daily operations to meet best practices and organizational goals. They implement strategic plans, uphold standards of care in compliance with regulatory requirements within the inpatient medical-surgical telemetry unit, and develop programs to improve organizational performance and staff competence. The Nurse Manager demonstrates leadership, provides staff development, ensures competence, and collaborates with medical staff and senior management to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care across the continuum. They are responsible for daily operations of the observation medical-surgical inpatient telemetry unit and must have strong knowledge of performance improvement, staff management, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure continuity of care for patients and families
- Accountable for 24/7 operations of a complex care acute unit
- Administer quality nursing care
- Lead clinical and non-clinical staff
- Manage daily operations, staffing, budgets, and operational activities
- Conduct performance assessments and talent acquisition
- Lead performance improvement projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s preferred
- Current NJ RN License & BLS certification required
- National certification in specialty required
- Minimum 5 years of Medical/Surgical or Telemetry Nursing experience; 3 years of managerial experience preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, critical thinking, and team-building skills
