Who We Are: Since 1985, BHCHP’s mission is to ensure equitable and dignified access to high‑quality health care for individuals and families experiencing homelessness in greater Boston. We serve thousands of homeless individuals each year across more than 30 locations, with clinicians, case managers, and behavioral health professionals delivering comprehensive health care, from preventive dental care to cancer treatment. We are committed to transforming health care by centering dignity, compassion, mutual respect, and supporting the right of every person to access quality care.

Join a team transforming healthcare for youth and families experiencing homelessness in Greater Boston. As a Nurse Manager (NM), you will lead clinical operations while delivering compassionate, high‑quality care. This role combines clinical expertise with operational leadership, overseeing daily functions at Family Team sites while providing direct patient care, driving quality improvement, and shaping service delivery models to support leadership advancement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pediatric and adult patient care, including assessments, interventions, and health education
- Managing quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and vaccine program
- Supervising RNs and Medical Assistants, ensuring excellence in clinical operations
- Supporting public health measures tailored to youth and families experiencing homelessness
- The Family Team provides integrated health services including primary and episodic care, immunizations, mental health and substance abuse treatment, family planning, nutrition, and social service advocacy at the Family Clinic and various shelters and outreach locations throughout Greater Boston
Hours: Full time; Monday–Friday 8:30 am–5:00 pm
Responsibilities (continued)
- Direct Patient Care: provide pediatric and adult care, including assessments, interventions, progress monitoring, and evaluating effectiveness
- Clinical Responsibilities: manage regulatory compliance of clinical supplies and medications, oversee adherence to healthcare regulations
- Vaccine Manager: oversee the Vaccines for Children program
- Team leadership for partner programs (Reach out and Read, MA State Lead Testing Program, Horizons for Homeless Children)
- Develop and implement policies in collaboration with Family Team and BHCHP Leadership
- Monitor clinical operations and lead quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in public health efforts for families and youth experiencing homelessness
- Administrative Responsibilities: lead and mentor Family Team RNs and Medical Assistants, oversee Family Clinic services, transport supplies and vaccines, contribute to BHCHP committees, support staff development and equity training
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with a current Massachusetts license
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible nursing experience
- Pediatric nursing experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of generalist/medical-surgical/community nursing experience
- Valid driver’s license and access to a car for travel between sites
- Leadership experience with demonstrated management ability
- Experience working with underserved populations, including youth and families experiencing homelessness
- Outreach nursing experience preferred
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or other languages commonly spoken by the population served; additional compensation for bilingual proficiency
Compensation and Benefits
NOW OFFERING A $4,000 SIGN ON BONUS
- The compensation ranges from $42.60 - $68.15 hourly, based on years of experience
- Full-time employees are eligible for time off, health, dental, and vision insurance, 403B retirement, pre-tax MBTA pass with 40% discount, and additional compensation for bilingual proficiency
