Nurse Educator (RN)
The Nursing Educator is responsible for assisting the CNO in evaluating, reviewing, designing and implementing hospital training events with respect to all RN/LVN/MHT staff required training. Also provides, on as-needed basis, patient nursing assessments. Participates in Treatment Team meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited program in nursing. RN/BSN preferred.
- Credentials: Licensure by the California Board of Registered Nursing required.
- Experience: A minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience preferred in a psychiatric or mental health setting, with direct experience in staff education, nursing practices, patient assessments, education concepts, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of external review organizations.
- Knowledge of patient rights, advanced directives, adult and child abuse laws, and emergency detention.
- Knowledge and utilization of crisis intervention techniques.
- Knowledge of patient assessment, family motivation and treatment planning techniques.
- Knowledge of complex patient care planning.
- Excellent leadership and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
- Skill in interacting with multiple individuals with diversified roles and perspectives.
