Job Summary:
Manages educational department, in accordance with current standards of practice, rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility to ensure facility compliance. Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates the education program in the facility based on identified resident needs, staff needs, federal, state, and local regulations.

Plans, implements, directs, and evaluates the education program in the facility based on identified resident needs, staff needs, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Plans and publishes the in-service calendar for all mandatory in-services
- Arranges education programs and staff trainings during the year
- Provides regular continuing education programs for nurses
- Conducts an annual competency skills evaluation of nurses in preparation for their performance evaluation
- Acts as the liaison between the nursing instructors and affiliated students
- Maintains a resource center with current geriatric literature and other media
- Maintains and submits to HR all training attendance documentation
- Compiles necessary reports for DPH and other regulatory agencies
- Supervises student instructors during any resident contact and care
- Supervise the CNA Class
Qualifications:
- Current NM RN License
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in nursing supervision or nursing management in a long-term care setting
- Knowledge of geriatric, rehabilitative, and nursing care
- Professional attitude, high degree of self-motivation and leadership qualities
