A healthcare organization on Long Island is seeking a Nurse Educator / Learning & Professional Development Specialist (RN) in Nassau County. This full-time, non-bedside role focuses on staff training, professional development, and compliance education across multiple program locations.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (with occasional evenings and weekends as needed
- Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
- Setting: Non-clinical training and education environment
- Facilitate and deliver staff training using lectures, role-playing, simulations, videos, team exercises, and group discussions
- Conduct CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, Bloodborne Pathogen, Seizure Management, and other health-related trainings
- Conduct AMAP recertification programs
- Provide education on diabetes management, tube feeding, and colostomy care
- Administer and interpret Mantoux (PPD) testing and support additional compliance-related training needs
- Assist with the development and revision of training curricula, policies, and procedures; conduct field-based and on-site trainings as needed
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in staff education, training, or professional development
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and public speaking skills
- Ability to travel between program sites as needed
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required
- Strong experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Experience with OPWDD regulations and compliance education
- Experience teaching AMAP, CPR, First Aid, or other healthcare-related courses
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual training platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
