Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has knowledge and skills necessary to meet standards for professional practice specified in the Texas Nursing Practice Act and by HCHD Nursing Service. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in the assigned clinical area; recognizes when assistance is needed and seeks appropriate resources.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Licensure/Specialized Training: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas; Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program; other certificates as required by unit/service.
• Work Experience: One (1) year full-time RN experience.
• Management Experience: N/A.

Special Requirements

• Communication Skills: Above average verbal ability with heavy public contact; exceptional verbal skills (e.g., public speaking); writing/composing (correspondence/reports).
• Bilingual Skills: Preferred; languages as applicable.
• Other Skills: Mathematics, Medical Terms, Computer literacy.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Work Schedule: Weekends, holidays, flexible, on-call.
• Other Requirements: N/A.
