A substance abuse treatment facility located in Fresh Meadows, Queens New York is seeking full-time, part-time Nurse Assistants. Positions are available for evening and overnight shifts. We are a 24 hour-7 day week operation. Currently, we have 8 hour and 12-hour shifts available. You will work alongside fellow caregivers to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide patient care under the direction of nursing staff
- Escort patients to and from appointments, X-ray, Emergency Room, etc.
- Assist in the transfer and discharge procedures
- Responsible for vital signs
- Maintain a clean and healthy environment
- May be required to draw and process blood specimen
- Conduct rounds
- Assistant in meal periods
- Conduct searches based on OASAS approved guidelines
- Previous experience in nursing, patient care, or other related fields
- Satisfactorily completed nursing assistant or medical assistant program.
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Mental Health or Substance Abuse Facility experience preferred.
- Must be computer literate
- Must have CPR certification (or obtain one within 30 days from the date of hire)
