Thermal-Hydraulics Test Engineer IIHoltec International is seeking a Thermal-Hydraulics Test Engineer II to support validation of thermal-hydraulic performance for safety-related and non-safety-related systems as part of the SMR-300 design certification and commercialization effort. This role is integral to ensuring test programs accurately reflect design requirements and support regulatory and technical objectives. The Thermal-Hydraulics Test Engineer II works within a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop, execute, and document test programs.
This includes translating design and analysis requirements into test specifications, supporting test loop setup and execution, and delivering high-quality data packages to internal and external stakeholders.Minimum required qualifications include:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related discipline0–2 years of relevant laboratory or test engineering experienceExperience interpreting engineering drawings and P&IDsExperience with data reduction, analysis, and visualizationExperience working in a QA-controlled or safety-related environmentAbility to support on-site testing, extended test campaigns, and occasional travelAbility to work with minimal direction to solve complex technical problems and provide timely recommendationsExcellent technical writing, interpersonal, and communication skillsAdditional desirable qualifications:M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related discipline3–5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in laboratory or test engineering environmentsExperience with test loop/facility setup, commissioning, and operationProficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for data reduction and visualizationFamiliarity with instrumentation selection, calibration, and data acquisition systemsNQA-1 quality assurance experience and knowledge of U.S.
NRC licensing processesExperience developing test plans, procedures, reports, and design verification documentationExperience interacting directly with internal or external test sponsorsSpecific areas of responsibility include:Develop test requirements based on SMR-300 design and analysis inputsTranslate technical requirements into detailed test plans, procedures, and specificationsSupport design, setup, commissioning, and operation of thermal-hydraulic test loops and facilitiesExecute test programs, including on-site testing and extended test campaignsEnsure proper data acquisition, validation, and quality control in accordance with QA standardsPerform data reduction, analysis, and visualization to support engineering conclusionsPrepare comprehensive test reports and data packages for internal and external stakeholdersCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure alignment between testing and design objectivesInterface with test sponsors to define requirements, communicate progress, and deliver resultsEnsure all testing activities comply with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirementsIdentify and resolve technical issues encountered during test planning and executionSupport continuous improvement of test methods, tools, and processesSalary Range: $105,000-$125,000 annually.
