Job Description:The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for conducting Nuclear Medicine studies, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes as directed by the Radiologist. Duties also include performing quality control and calibration tests on imaging equipment according to institutional protocols. Adherence to radiation safety measures in handling radioactive materials and efficient organization of daily work for streamlined examination procedures are crucial aspects of this role.
Requirements:- Licenses and Certifications:
- ARRT or NMTCB certification or eligibility for certification
- Current or temporary NDMIRTBE license
- Education:
- Registered Technologist with NMTCB or ARRT
- Experience:
- Demonstrated proficiency in Nuclear Medicine procedures
- Skills and Training:
- Graduate of Nuclear Medicine program or Registered Technologist with ARRT
- Capability to perform IV insertions for contrast media administration
- Knowledge of hospital information system for procedure billing
- Adaptability to learn and implement new protocols for updated equipment
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, attentive)
- Commitment to maintaining patient and institutional confidentiality
- Promotes collaboration, teamwork, and mutual respect within and across departments
