Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including preparation of patients, operating nuclear medicine equipment, administering radiopharmaceuticals and medications, and ensuring quality care for pediatric through adult patients.

Job Description

Assist physicians in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by preparing patients, operating nuclear medicine equipment, administering radiopharmaceuticals and medications, and performing therapy as ordered. Provide quality care to patients of all ages using professional judgment and critical thinking.

Education & Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB recognized Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from NMTCB or Registered Technologist (RT–N) from ARRT, or registry eligible with a B.S. or B.A. preferred. If registry eligible, must obtain certification within 12 months.
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or equivalent).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • 0–2 years of modality‑specific experience.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs, work indoors and outdoors, use elevated and confined spaces, perform lifting up to 50 lbs, operate fine and gross motor skills, maintain vision and hearing acuity, deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts and overtime, and work in a latex safe environment.
