Job Summary

$25,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible applicants.

Job Duties

• Calibrate and assay isotope doses; prepare radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals.
• Explain procedures and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients; position patients for procedures; provide protection to patients and personnel in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
• Calibrate equipment and perform camera and computer quality control; operate selected equipment to perform radionuclide imaging including scanning, organ blood‑flow studies, organ function studies, PET and CT studies; process images.
• Perform semi‑in‑vitro studies in wet lab.
• Takes call and performs emergent studies when necessary.
• Utilize radiology information system and electronic medical records system to maintain accurate patient records.
• Maintain record of receipt, use, storage, and disposal of isotopes.
• Perform routine and emergency laboratory radiation surveys and wipe tests; survey contaminated material; assist in containment and cleanup of radiation spills.
• Perform quality control tests of equipment; immediately notify the Team Leader or designee of irregularities.
• Notify leadership or appropriate maintenance personnel of equipment malfunctions according to procedure.
• Share responsibility for ordering supplies; order isotopes as needed.
• Act as a Nuclear Medicine liaison; provide support to physicians as requested; refer problems to appropriate leadership.
• Maintain a positive interpersonal relationship with patients, physicians, and employees.
• Perform processing and formatting of computer studies as requested by Team Leader.
• Perform scheduling of patients as requested by Team Leader.
• Perform nuclear medicine exams and assist with procedures and therapies requiring access and handling of non‑controlled medications and radioactive pharmaceuticals.
• Accountable for satisfying all job‑specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist from the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or Nuclear Medicine Technology certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire.
• Graduate from a specialty training program – required.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• Certified CT Technician within 24 months – ARRT or NMTCB.
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
• Other relevant certifications: Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), Nuclear Medicine Technologist RT(R)(N) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Skills: Communication, diagnostic imaging, medical equipment management, preceptor skills, radiation safety, radiology, working independently.
