Envision Imaging seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at our North Arlington, TX location. PRN (As-Needed) | Position Pay Range: $41.97 - $54.11
Summary/Objective
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. Detects and maps radiopharmaceuticals in patients’ bodies using a camera to produce photographic or computer images and calculates doses to be administered.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities)
- Interface with patients to ascertain medical history and provide instructions and explanations of procedures and exams to obtain the best possible images.
- Review patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent; screen patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
- Perform nuclear medicine and/or PET scans while attending to patient care before, during, and following exams, notifying the appropriate party if the patient’s condition changes at any time.
- Maintain records of receipt and disposal of radioactive materials; manage radioactive disposables for proper decay and disposal.
- Perform injections of radioisotope and order radioisotopes for next day’s exams.
- Transfer images to other locations as needed.
- Coordinate scan protocols with the Radiologist.
- Maintain and regularly inspect equipment, immediately reporting any quality concerns, failures, or deficiencies.
- Interface with Lead Technologist & Area Manager regarding departmental concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Two plus years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine
- Ability to educate patients on procedures being performed
- Detail oriented, self‑motivated, a problem solver and a team player
- Ability to excel in a very fast‑paced team environment
- Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectations
Education/Certifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certification
- Registry in Nuclear Medicine (N) or (CNMT)
- Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
