Nuclear Medicine Technologist- Part Time

AHS's Cardiovascular Imaging Outpatient Departments currently has an opening for a Nuclear Technologist. Selected candidate will perform Cardiac Nuclear Stress studies in accordance with established departmental protocols and policies . This position works within hours and a department that is based in an off-site imaging centers in and around facilities that are affiliated with Morristown Medical Center/Atlantic Health System as well as other off-site offices that are associated with Physician Aligned practices

Principal Accountabilities:

• 1. Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses, under direction of physician.
• 2. Calibrates equipment.
• 3. Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film.
• 4. Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
• 5. Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
• 6. Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
• 7. Other duties as assigned
