Get to Know Your Team:

  • Bailey Medical Center offers a full range of medical services, including general surgery, maternity, gynecology, bariatrics, orthopedics and emergency care. The 73‑bed hospital is one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the region.
  • Under the general supervision of the Imaging Supervisor, the incumbent must be able to perform nuclear medicine procedures, schedule procedures, initiate new procedures, transport patients, handle telephone calls for scheduling, and answer questions related to report exams.
  • Must be able to handle patient support equipment, i.e. I.V. pumps, O2, etc.
  • The incumbent helps clean rooms and equipment, orders supplies, assists physicians with invasive procedures, and administers basic CPR.
  • The incumbent helps the supervisor with the daily operation of the Nuclear Medicine department.
  • The technologist must be a graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology/nuclear medicine and/or be registered or registry eligible.
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of regulatory mandates for quality control.
  • Incumbent must adhere to all DEQ regulations.
  • The incumbent must maintain a high standard of imaging. A thorough knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, anatomy, and positioning are essential for a quality exam.
  • Must be able to handle multiple demands simultaneously and keep a helpful attitude toward patients, their families, office personnel, physicians, and associates.
  • Must coordinate patient prep and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow.
  • Must help move patients when needed and participate in performance‑improvement initiatives.
  • Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day‑to‑day operation of the department.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his or her assigned area.
  • The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age‑specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the department’s competency plan.

Job Requirements:

  • Vocational/Technical
  • Nuclear Medicine training
  • CNMT (upon hire)
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Job Preferred Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience preferred
