Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and specialized imaging equipment. The technologist ensures accurate imaging results while maintaining safety standards, complying with regulatory requirements, and following facility protocols. This role requires technical expertise, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the imaging team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and safety standards.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including cardiac, bone, liver, thyroid, renal, pulmonary, and gastrointestinal studies.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GE Nuclear Medicine equipment and other imaging instruments.
- Perform quality control, calibration, and routine maintenance of imaging equipment.
- Monitor patients during procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and proper positioning.
- Analyze images for quality, accuracy, and completeness before releasing results to physicians.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and regulatory compliance.
- Adhere to all radiation safety protocols and Texas regulations.
- Assist in cross-training or floating to X-Ray or other imaging modalities as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to provide high-quality patient care.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
Required Skills (Must-Have):
- Experience with GE equipment
- Familiarity with GE Nuclear Medicine equipment and cardiac imaging
- Knowledge of Radiation Safety and Texas regulations
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Y-90 procedures
- Experience with lymphoscintigraphy procedures
