Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a busy hospital setting as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required.
License: Must hold a valid NJDEP license.
Certifications: ARRT or NMTCB registry is required. BLS by American Heart Association is required.
Must-Have: General Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology experience preferred. PET experience preferred. CT experience preferred. Skills: Phlebotomy, EPIC, ability to perform Nuclear Medicine and/or PET exams.
Description:
Provides immobilization devices as required.
Selects and operates Nuclear Medicine equipment as directed.
Evaluates radio images using the PACS System to ensure proper identification and that the images are of diagnostic value.
Provides radiation protection for self and patients in accordance with prescribed safety.
Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
Performs radionuclide procedures on patients, including organ imaging and function studies, and assists in the therapeutic use of radioisotopes under prescribed safety conditions.
Prepares radioactive tracer compounds for patient use.
Calibrates equipment and assays radio nuclides.
Receives and inspects radiopharmaceutical packages according to state and NRC guidelines.
Maintains adequate records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage, and disposal in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness, including provisions for contamination-free conditions of room, equipment, and personnel.
Follows all NRC and state JCAHO guidelines and practices.
Evaluates images using the PACS workstation to ensure images contain proper identification and are of diagnostic value.
Rotates work assignments as needed.
Performs required daily clerical duties, which include the use of various patient scheduling and information systems.
Responsible for scheduled shifts.
Greets patients when they arrive for their exams.
Adheres to policies of Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality.
Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care specific to those needs.
Communicates effectively with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at an appropriate level.
Adheres to the standards identified in organizational competencies.
