Full Job Description
US Heart and Vascular is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Birmingham Heart Clinic in Birmingham, AL. This role supports our growing PET imaging services, covering days when our full-time techs (who work 4-10 schedules) are off, as well as providing coverage to our satellite offices.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform PET scans
* Explain medical procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have
* Follow safety procedures to protect the patients and themselves from unnecessary radiation exposure
* Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as required
* Operate imaging equipment
* Maintain detailed procedure records
* Follow safety and disposal radiation procedures
* Provide coverage at satellite office locations as needed
Requirements, Skills, and Abilities
* Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
* Registered with ARRT or NMTCB
* BLS/CPR certification
* Flexibility to travel to satellite office locations as needed
