Nuclear Command, Control, Communications (NC3) SMEApogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Nuclear Command, Control, Communications (NC3) SME to support Headquarters United States Air Force (AF/A10). In this role, you will be responsible for providing specialized technical, analytical, and programmatic support for the NC3 Division (AF/A10XN). This support focuses on ensuring the resiliency, survivability, and cybersecurity of the DAF NC3 enterprise by analyzing requirements, assessing capabilities, and preparing materials for government use in key governance forums and stakeholder engagements.
You will also provide dedicated analytical support to prepare Department of the Air Force (DAF) senior leadership for participation in the highest levels of DoD governance, specifically the NC3 Decision Forum (NC3DF). This support ensures DAF principals are equipped with comprehensive technical and operational analysis to effectively represent Air Force positions.The HAF/A10 contract delivers technical, analytical, operational, programmatic, and planning subject-matter expertise to HAF/A10 and its component divisions to advance national security strategic plans, policies, concepts, and initiatives.This is a full-time position, located on-site at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.***This position is contingent upon contract award.***ResponsibilitiesAnalyze the resiliency and survivability of the NC3 enterprise against all threats, including cyber, physical, and electromagnetic effects.Analyze enterprise cybersecurity best practices and their impact on NC3 systems, policies, and guidanceAnalyze JROC, Joint Staff, and Combatant Command NC3 requirements and their effect on DAF policies and guidance.Analyze Next Generation NC3 concepts and strategic guidance to develop proposed solutions and assess alignment with JADC2.Provide analytical and preparatory support for DAF participation in NC3-related governance forums, technical meetings, and senior leader engagements.Provide analytical and preparatory support for DAF senior leader participation in the NC3 Decision Forum (NC3DF) and other key stakeholder meetings.Research & Analysis. Conduct continuous research and scholarly analysis on a full range of emerging issues in strategic deterrence, including policy, strategy, arms control, NC3, CWMD, and related national security topics.
Support exercises and studies to develop new Air Force deterrence concepts and CONOPs. Produce and deliver comprehensive draft and final reports, briefings, and analyses detailing findings, strategic insights, and implications. Research efforts may be short-term or long-term (up to one year) and may require CONUS/OCONUS travel.Qualifications Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess a TS-level clearance with SCI eligibility and maintain it Education: Bachelor's degree Years of Experience: Twenty-five (25) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including fifteen (15) years of DoD experience Additional Experience: Ability to understand and assess the complexity of interconnected systemsExperience planning, directing, and managing complex and extended projectsKnowledge of Air Staff, JS, and OSD organization and documentation processesKnowledge of how USAF, USSF, and USN NC3 capabilities, platforms, and technologies interactExperience crafting creative technical solutionsAbility to translate NC3 strategy into achievable technical solutionsExperience working in complex environments with multiple points of contactExperience generating briefings and decision papers Preferred Qualifications: Clearance: TS/SCI Education: Master's degree Years of Experience: Twenty (20) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, including twelve (12) years of DoD experience Additional Information: Location: Located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA On-site: This is a full-time on-site position ***This position is contingent upon contract award.***
