Role Overview:Aeva is seeking to hire a talented and motivated NPI Alignment Engineer to work closely with our design teams and contract manufacturers in developing precision optoelectronic alignment equipment.
This person should have in-depth experience in micro-optic assembly techniques and equipment with a heavy emphasis on active alignment.What you will be doingDevelopment from concept to production release of in-house and outsourced active alignment equipmentWork remotely and on-site with active alignment equipment manufacturers to solve equipment hardware and process related issuesOversee failure analysis of process and assembly related issuesSource and buy-off active alignment required for productionProvide DFM feedback to the engineering team and own process related design decisions as related to active alignmentWhat will you have3-5 years experience developing custom designed optoelectronic active alignment equipment and alignment processesHands-on experience developing and debugging active aligner hardware and processesHands-on experience creating and modifying alignment sequences in custom equipment GUIsExperience optimizing processes for cycle time, yield, and performanceA strong understanding and comfort of geometric optics and mechanical alignment hardwareExperience specifying and developing original alignment techniques and algorithmsExperience with automation hardware using precision stages, automated dispensing, and pneumaticsStrong knowledge of epoxies used for active alignmentYears of accumulated knowledge of working with equipment suppliers and contract manufacturersExcellent project management and communication skillsWillingness for extended international travelNice to haveExperience with working in an R&D environment while also meeting deadlines in a production scheduleExperience writing scripts in languages like Python, Matlab, Labview, or C++Experience analyzing large alignment datasets using software such as Python, R, JMP, or similarStrong Solidworks experienceExperience designing precision mechanical parts and assembliesWhat’s in it for youBe part of a fast paced and dynamic teamVery competitive compensation and meaningful stock grantsExceptional benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and moreUnlimited PTO: We care about results, not punching timecards$132,400 - $179,200 a yearSalary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
