Senior Systems AdministratorThe role of the Senior Systems Administrator is to design, install, administer, and optimize company servers, network devices, and related systems to support the needs of the business. This responsibility includes ensuring the availability of data and applications, configuring new implementations, managing backups, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing support of the IT infrastructure.Expectations of the Role:Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the entire server environment and supporting services.Design, secure, implement, and maintain physical, virtual, and network systems along with their associated OS and application software.Collaborate with other IT associates as well as business team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes and vendor-supplied patches.Monitor the network and servers to ensure optimal performance and availability.Manage server and network backups and restores.Administer and maintain user accounts, email, groups, Group Policy, permissions, and access rights.Record, track, and document the service desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.Develop and maintain operational documentation.Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.Maintain up to date on industry best practices and trends.Assist with the remediation of any vulnerabilities discovered during routine scans.Identify and respond accurately and with sensitivity to the needs of the organization.Balance the day-to-day work of systems administration with project-based work.Provide peer leadership to those working in the service desk environment and other System Administrators.Be a part of the after-hours on-call support rotation.Skills and Experience we like to see:Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems and 7+ years' experience in server/network management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Industry Certifications are desired.A strong understanding of MS Active Directory, Group Policy, file server ACLs. server backup methodologies, remote access technologies, MS Exchange, SQL Server (backups/security/maintenance plans,) • VMware vSphere and SAN Storage and LAN switching is a must.Strong scripting experience is necessary.Ability to multi task and prioritize daily duties along with project work.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate to diverse types of people- technical, business and customer.Able to be part of an after-hours on call support rotation.Apply today!
