Designing and implementing core security controls, the full-time salaried North Carolina Security Engineer will manage security tooling and processes, collaborate with IT teams, and support IAM workflows in a hybrid work environment. Key responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain security controls for networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud services Own the configuration, operation, and tuning of core security tools, including health checks and effectiveness reviews Investigate security incidents and coordinate remediation activities with infrastructure and IAM teams Required qualifications 3-6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, network engineering, or security operations Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft-centric environments, including Windows Server and Entra ID/Azure AD Practical experience administering security technologies such as firewalls, VPN, and endpoint protection Experience investigating and resolving security incidents involving endpoints and user accounts Ability to write and maintain basic scripts for automation of security and IAM-related tasks
