To enhance compliance within the healthcare system, the full-time remote North Carolina Licensed Coding Specialist will implement and maintain compliance programs, conduct internal audits, and educate providers on government regulations, particularly those related to Medicare and Medicaid. Key responsibilities Implement and maintain compliance programs to minimize legal and financial risks Conduct routine internal audits of provider documentation and identify coding and billing risk areas Educate providers on compliance with government regulations and promote compliance initiatives Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Four years of administrative experience in compliance, coding, and auditing principles Two years of experience with DRGs and APR-DRGs for technical coding Certification as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS required; CPC or CPMA preferred Experience in formal teaching of coding is preferred
