To ensure compliance with government regulations, the remote North Carolina Licensed Coding Specialist will implement and maintain compliance programs, conduct internal audits, and educate providers on coding and billing practices. Key responsibilities Implement compliance programs in accordance with government regulations and conduct routine internal audits of provider documentation Educate providers on compliance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines, HIPAA, and fraud prevention Identify coding and billing risk areas, conduct focused reviews, and collaborate with internal staff to improve documentation and compliance capabilities Required qualifications Bachelor's degree required Four years of administrative experience in compliance, coding, and auditing principles related to revenue cycle functions Two years of experience with DRGs and APR-DRGs for technical coding Certification as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS required; CPC or CPMA preferred Experience in formal teaching of coding is preferred
