Position: Noon Aide

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to work positively and effectively with students, staff, and families
- Knowledge of and experience with supervision strategies, student safety practices, and behavior management
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Preferred experience with Playworks, PBIS, or similar structured recess programs, not required.

This role serves as a liaison between administration, teachers, and support staff to implement structured play and safety procedures consistently, while modeling district values and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Student Safety
- Coordinate and monitor supervision coverage during lunch, recess, hallways, and bathrooms
- Ensure all areas are appropriately supervised, and student safety is prioritized
- Circulate and monitor student behavior, modeling proactive engagement
- Respond appropriately to incidents and report to the principal/designee as needed
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture
- Train new noon aides in procedures, communication protocols, and expectations
- Support consistent implementation of PBIS, Playworks, and structured supervision techniques
- Actively support and mentor Junior Coaches (if applicable)
- Support aides in handling student conflicts with calm, respectful strategies
- Promote Playworks principles of inclusion, sportsmanship, and positive behavior
- Ensure aides use clear and respectful communication with students
- Ensure timely and appropriate reporting of behavior incidents
- Model and promote active participation in recess games and activities
- Encourage inclusive play and foster positive peer relationships
- Ensure Playworks language and strategies are consistently used
- Monitor and maintain a safe and respectful playground environment
- Communicate with the administration regularly regarding incidents and concerns
- Complete required district and state-mandated training and adhere to School Board Policy 5.120 Employee Ethics; Code of Professional Conduct; and Conflict of Interest
- Ensure the lunchroom is prepared before student entry and cleaned afterward
- Supervise staff in sanitation procedures and food service collaboration
- Ensure compliance with health and allergy protocols
- Participate in emergency drills and uphold all school safety protocols
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or designee
