Position Description

The Department ofGeography & Environmental Studies seeks to developa pool of candidates for possible temporary/nontenured faculty toteach.Temporary/nontenured faculty are appointed to teach one tofour courses per semester. Teaching appointments are based uponstudent demand on a semester-by-semester basis. Eligibility forannual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annualperformance evaluations during the term period, in addition tocontinuity of funding and departmental need. Successful candidatesmay teach at the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and/or online,depending on the needs of the academic department.This posting isfor the summer 2026, fall 2026, spring 2027, and summer 2027semesters. Please note that this posting is not intended to conveythat such a need currently exists. Applicants applying for a poolfaculty position will be available to the departmental searchcommittee for consideration in case the need arises. Required Qualifications

  • Specific educational requirements vary by position, but aminimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the subjectfield is generally required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience is preferred.
