Nondestructive Evaluation EngineerLocation: Mesa, Arizona (Onsite)Role OverviewOur organization is seeking a Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Engineer to join our Composite Materials and Nondestructive Evaluation Team. This engineer will apply knowledge of materials and processes in various engineering and manufacturing disciplines, providing technical support for non-destructive inspection of composite and metal structures.
The role is instrumental in ensuring the efficient production of aerospace products.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain proficiency in NDE Methods (e.g., Ultrasonics, Radiography, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant).Review and interpret ultrasonic inspection results.Design reference standards for inspections and develop NDT inspection plans.Review and approve internal and supplier inspection techniques.Develop and qualify NDT inspections and equipment.Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes.Draft engineering specifications and other documents.Interface across engineering teams to align on inspection requirements and capabilities.Support development, qualification, and deployment of new inspection processes.Support root cause and corrective action analysis.Assess NDT evaluation technologies for new and existing programs.Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.Required QualificationsBachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.3+ years of experience working in Nondestructive Evaluation.Preferred Qualifications5+ years of related work experience.ASNT Level 2 or 3 certifications in UT, RT, MT, PT, or ET.Functional knowledge of instruments, systems, and software used for ultrasonic, magnetic particle, penetrant, eddy current, and radiographical inspection.Knowledge of reference standard development and fabrication.Experience with robotics, 3D modeling, 3D printing, Computed Tomography (CT), and/or Ultrasonic Phased Array.Experience working in an engineering or scientific lab.Experience reading drawings and using Microsoft Office products.
