Within the Epilepsy Department, you will be part of a family of caregivers committed to providing state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies and surgical treatment options.A caregiver in this position works full-time| 7:00PM – 7:00AM| 3-12s per week| every other weekend and holiday.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Gather data using closed circuit audio/visual equipment and electrophysiological recording instruments.Utilize electrophysiological recording instruments using both surface recording electrodes and electrophysiological recording instruments.Perform record keeping data using the computer and maintain daily logs of patients' status.Use critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to work with minimal supervision.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or related patient care fieldOR Two years direct patient care experience may substitute for the Associate's Degree requirementBasic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certificationOne year experience as a non-registered EEG Technicin or First year completion of associate's degree in Electroneurodiagnostics may substitute for one year as a non-registered EEG TechnicianPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Technologist obtain the ABRET (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) credentialing for R. EEG T. (Registered EEG Technologist) within two years of hire into this positionPhysical Requirements:Ability to assist with positioning and transporting of patients, pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs.Must be able to occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
