Position Overview
As a Non-CDL Delivery Driver at Hartville Hardware, you are responsible for transporting products from our store to customers' homes, businesses, and job sites safely and on time. Every day looks a little different - new routes, new customers, and the satisfaction of being the final step in delivering quality products that keep projects moving.
This role requires strong attention to detail, professional customer interaction, and a commitment to representing Hartville Hardware at its best on every delivery.
License & DOT Requirements
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. Must meet DOT requirements including physical examination, medical card, and DOT drug screening. Must be at least 21 years of age.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operation & Safety
  • Safely operate delivery vehicles, following all traffic rules, regulations, and company policies
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition
  • Ensure all products are properly secured and strapped in the delivery vehicle before departure
  • Adhere to all safety protocols during loading, transport, and unloading
Loading, Delivery & Customer Interaction
  • Load products onto the delivery vehicle, ensuring secure and proper placement
  • Deliver orders to customers' homes, businesses, and job sites accurately and on time
  • Assist customers with unloading products and answer delivery-related questions professionally and courteously
  • Verify that delivered products match customer orders and delivery invoices; document and report any discrepancies or damages
Route Planning & Navigation
  • Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel consumption
  • Use GPS and navigation tools to navigate local streets and highways
Vehicle Maintenance
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks including fueling, checking fluid levels, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly
  • Keep the delivery vehicle clean, organized, and road-ready
What We Are Looking For
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must meet DOT requirements - physical examination, medical card, and DOT drug screening required
  • Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role preferred
  • Strong navigation skills and familiarity with local roads and areas
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills - you represent Hartville Hardware on every delivery
  • High school diploma or equivalent
