Nocturnist

Houston Methodist Woodlands Hospital seeks a dedicated nocturnist to join their collaborative hospitalist team on a full-time basis. Clinicians will provide comprehensive inpatient care, manage medical emergencies, and participate in quality improvement initiatives during overnight hours. Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours, including admissions, consultations, and management of acute medical conditions
• Respond to and manage medical emergencies throughout the hospital
• Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and ancillary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and referring providers regarding treatment plans and care transitions
• Complete timely and accurate medical documentation in accordance with regulatory, compliance, and billing requirements
• Participate in hospital quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives
• Support educational activities involving residents and medical students, when applicable

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time employed position
• 7-on/7-off nocturnist schedule
• 12-hour overnight shifts

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
• Active Texas Medical License or eligibility to obtain Texas licensure
• Previous hospitalist or nocturnist experience preferred
• Two or more years of inpatient clinical experience is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex and acutely ill hospitalized patients
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
