We are currently hiring a Locum Nocturnist for a well-established, physician-led healthcare group in Fall River, MA.
This is a flexible locum opportunity starting later this year(August), ideal for physicians comfortable with ICU-level care and procedures.
Community-type hospital with no trauma. Cardiology team handles STEMIs.
7 pm - 7 am. Admits patients from the ED to the floors and also to the 12-bed med-surg ICU during their shift. They must be able to evaluate and begin management of sick patients.
The "admitting" evening hospitalists are there in an overlapping shift, and they admit floor patients until 9 pm, and then the locum begins admitting to the floors starting at 9 pm.
Number of admissions varies between 3 and 10 on the extremes. Average is 5-6 over the 12 hours.
Answers floor calls, rapid responses and codes. There is a eICU (telemedicine) watching the ICU remotely from 7 pm 7 am, but the nocturnist must be available at the bedside.
Must be able to intubate, place A-lines and central lines.
Does not need to be a Board-certified intensivist or Pulm-Critical Care but they need the above skill set.
Must be able to manage ICU patients with the back-up of a telemedicine intensivist from 10 pm -7 am.

Collaborate with tele-ICU team overnight
Requirements:
Experience as Hospitalist / Nocturnist
Comfortable with ICU-level care
Must be able to:
Intubate
Place central lines
Place arterial lines
Board Certified / Board Eligible (preferred)
Eligible for Massachusetts license
