Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient care during overnight hours, including admissions, consultations, and managing medical emergencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services, to deliver high-quality care.
- Ensure timely communication with patients, families, and referring physicians to facilitate care transitions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety measures, and hospital protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with medical records and billing standards.
- Support the training and development of residents and medical students, as applicable.
Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Licensure/Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Active Texas Medical License or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospitalist or nocturnist role preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage acute inpatient care efficiently.
- Skills: Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.
