Nocturnist Hospitalist in Abilene, TX

Position Summary

TeamHealth has an excellent opportunity for a full‑time, internal medicine trained nocturnist physician to join our stable and established hospital medicine program at Hendrick Medical Center South in Abilene, Texas. Hendrick Medical Center is a 231‑bed hospital with an open 20‑bed ICU.

Schedule and Clinical Duties

The role features a block schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off. During daytime shifts, clinicians see an average census of 15‑20 patients per day, including 1‑2 admissions, while the APC handles 4‑6 admissions. On the nocturnist shift you will see between 6‑10 admissions on average, run codes, perform rapid response, and round on ICU patients as needed.

Procedural Expectations

Procedures are highly preferred for this position. The following specialties provide support during procedures: Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Neurology, Spine Surgery, General Surgery, Infectious Disease, Pulmonology, OB‑GYN, Sonography, and Interventional Radiology (will assist ED with procedures).

The EMR used throughout the Hendrick system is All‑Scripts.
