Paint PrepperThe Paint Prepper will prepare and apply coatings to equipment, components, and structures using a variety of techniques and equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's specification for mixing, thinning, and spraying. They are responsible for ensuring that all quality standards are met, and surfaces are correctly prepared for coating by performing body work, body filler application, taping, masking & sanding. Additional responsibilities include the identification of defective products, performing all work in a safe manner, and cleaning and maintaining painting and coating equipment and personal protective equipment.Roles & ResponsibilitiesAble to read and understand product data sheets.Able to differentiate between colors.Able to correctly attain coverage and mil build according to spec (using wet gauge).Able to read & understand customer paint specs.Basic understanding of coating processes and procedures.Full understanding of how paint spray equipment works.Ensures spray equipment is clean before and after use.Understands oven operation and how it effects finish.Understand why and how to ground.Understand cure temperatures and parameters.Demonstrates proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings/specifications.Able to properly fill out required documentation (i.e.
